Olivia Salter, NBCT
This is Mrs. Salter's fourth year as a full-time counselor at Ridgewood. She has been working as a school counselor for 14 years. Previously Mrs. Salter has worked at Wintergreen Intermediate School in Pitt County and at Margaret Hearne Elementary School in Wilson County. In 1997 Mrs. Salter received her BS degree in Elementary Education and in 1998 earned her Masters in Counselor Education, both from East Carolina University. In 2004 she achieved National Board Certification (NBCT) in School Counseling. Mrs. Salter holds NC teaching certificates in Elementary Education (k-6), School Counseling (k-12), and Reading (k-12). Mrs. Salter is so happy to be a part of the Ridgewood family! She loves her job as a school counselor and enjoys meeting with all of her students. Her favorite part of her job is to work with students individually and in small groups. Outside of school, for the past 10 years, Mrs. Salter has served as a Master Teacher for an online reading module through East Carolina University. She has volunteered as the chairman of the Pitt County Junior Miss Scholarship Program for the past 13 years. In her free time she loves to do crafts, spend time with her family, and go to ECU football games! In 2005 she married a wonderful man, and has 2 precious step children whom she adores. Mrs. Salter has energetic toddler twins, Davis & Scarlett, and a precious newborn, Saylor.
This is Mrs. Hendrix's third year as a counselor at Ridgewood. This year she is working part time at Ridgewood. She received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from East Carolina University in 2002. She decided to go straight into graduate school and recently received her Masters Degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University in 2009. She worked as a school counselor at C.M. Eppes Middle School in Greenville, NC from January 2009-June 2009. Mrs. Hendrix holds an NC Teaching License in Elementary Education (K-6) and School Counseling (K-12). Mrs. Hendrix is very excited to be working as a school counselor at Ridgewood! Her favorite part of being a school counselor is being able to make a difference in the lives of students every single day. Although she loves every aspect of being a counselor, she thoroughly enjoys individual and small group counseling. On April 3, 2010 she married her high school sweetheart. In her free time, Mrs. Hendrix loves going to the beach and she never misses an ECU football game...Go Pirates!
