Attendance ROCKS at Ridgewood!

At Ridgewood we have an attendance recognition program to encourage students to come to school!  Each day that a class has 100% attendance, they earn a sticker on their attendance star.  At the end of each month, the class with the most stickers on their star will receive a party.  They can choose an ice cream party, a popcorn party, or a popsicle party.

Also, Mrs. Salter & Mrs. Hendrix work with students individually to help improve attendance.  They have charts located on their office doors, where they track student attendance, and meet with students individually to encourage them to come to school.

For the 20 students we worked with last school year, they began with an average of 8 absences per student in the second nine-week period.  By the end of the third nine-week period, the average absences per student was only 3 absences!

WHAT AN IMPROVEMENT!

Keep up the great work, students!  THANK YOU to the parents and families encouraging our students to come to school, when they are not sick!
